Job Summary

The Annuity Training Specialist position is responsible for the development, editing and implementation of a training curriculum for the IMO and FI annuity channels. This position will develop courses using the best delivery system such as videos, e-learning, or micro-learning based on the material and the audience. In partnership with the AVP, Product & Sales Training and the Sr. Annuity Sales Trainer, this position will assess learning needs and prioritize training needs for optimal results with the goal being to facilitate our wholesaler-learner in acquiring sales skills.

This position reports to the AVP, Product & Sales Training. This position will interact with all levels of employees.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consult with Sr. Annuity Sales Trainer and the Annuity Channel Sales Leadership to align with sales training needs.
  • Consult with subject matter experts in actuary, product design, and other functional areas as needed to get content for training modules.
  • Create engaging elearning activities with a focus on independent learning.
  • Conduct pre and post instructional research and analysis on learners;develop metrics to determine the effectiveness of the training with a goal to improve productivity and quality.
  • Learn and act as a subject matter expert for ways to enhance the learning process, such as
  • Work with the Sr. Annuity Sales Trainer to design and deliver a new wholesaler onboarding program.
  • Partner with Sr. Annuity Sales Trainer to create PowerPoint decks for live facilitation sessions.
  • Foster relationships with Compliance and own the Ad Review process for all sales training content.
  • Partner with the Product Technical Writers, as needed, and Compliance to ensure training documentation meets compliance standards.
  • Act as an additional facilitator, as needed.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of annuity sales experience; RILA and/or FIA sales experience is a plus
  • Prior successful experience with annuity training, preferably in design and delivery
  • State insurance license
  • Series 6 and 63
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Prior lesson and curriculum planning knowledge
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills (written/verbal), ability to deliver clear and convincing presentations on training curriculum
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to model our core values: Collaborative, Authentic, Dynamic, Empowered and Inclusive
  • Ability to collaborate with a demonstrated ability/credibility to influence broadly and challenge conventional thinking
  • Experience using, or willingness to learn, training technology platforms (video editing, PPT deck creation, etc.)Must have the ability to understand and write effective text for a complex products
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficient plus with Microsoft Office Suite
Other Requirements
  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
