Triple Whale is seeking an experienced Design Researcher to join a dynamic product team. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll tackle complex, e-commerce related challenges alongside other builders and thinkers from different backgrounds.
A successful candidate will be an organized go-getter with solid experience developing key insights about diverse audiences. You will undertake qualitative and quantitative research with a range of business stakeholders across our client base to better understand their needs, contexts and perspectives, and their relationship with the various factors that influence their financial health. You are a quick learner, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and collaborative—ready to roll up your sleeves and join a team that’s building one of the fastest growing companies in the world.
You Will:
* Spearhead user research for Triple Whale’s financial and operational product lines* Act as the voice of the user in a multidisciplinary software development team* Structure human-centered research and lead internal and partner teams through fieldwork, analysis of findings and insight development* Combine qualitative and quantitative research to generate actionable insights* Connect insights to design and collaborate with teammates to create “must have” digital tools for our users* Create deliverables, reports, presentations, and/or videos to document and bring to life insights in an engaging and inspiring way* Promote design thinking throughout our organization and share best practices for design research with other product teams
Requirements
You must have:* 5+ years of experience using human-centered practices to guide qualitative and quantitative research and design work from concepts to shipped and scaled experiences* A proven ability to scope research, recruit participants, lead fieldwork, conduct interviews, perform desk research, lead synthesis and communicate findings to stakeholders* Ability to synthesize research findings and to uncover and articulate insights that will inform and inspire design* Ability to shape and lead strategic systems thinking based upon insights gathered through research. Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; fluency and confidence in inspiring teammates and partners with user-driven rationale* Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, exercising a balance between research rigor and speed; we are looking for people who can maintain a high degree of rigor throughout, but who also experiment in their approach and methodology.* Experience using technology and digital methods to uncover needs (e.g.: experience conducting online ethnography, implementing remote user studies, moderating/monitoring online communities, collaborating with developers to build web or digital prototypes to gather feedback, etc.).* Deep understanding of user research best practices in a broad range of methods including: interview, contextual inquiry, usability, competitive analysis, survey, and behavioral/clickstream analysis.* Able to analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information, triangulate data across multiple studies and present actionable insights and recommendations to the stakeholders.* You love working on teams and share a passion for Triple Whale’s mission to bring clarity to business operators and decision-maker.* Applications without a COVER LETTER will not be consideredOur ValuesWe Are Customer Obsessed: From our mission to every detailed project, everything we do is designed to create a positive impact for our customers.We Move (Very!)
