Job Description:

ASG is seeking a skilled Drug Negotiation SME II who demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the Medicare prescription drug coverage and payment policy rules, regulations, and guidelines related to the pharmaceutical industry. drug price negotiators play a critical role in balancing cost control with access to essential medications, requiring a mix of negotiation prowess, analytical ability, and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities:
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to secure favorable pricing terms.
  • Understanding of negotiation strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to analyze drug pricing data, market trends, and cost structures.
  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceuticals, including drug development, manufacturing, and distribution.
  • Awareness of regulatory and compliance issues in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain complex pricing and negotiation concepts clearly.
  • Understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to assist in the creation of financial models and forecasts.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple negotiations and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage timelines effectively.
  • Familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations, and policies impacting drug pricing.
  • Ability to navigate contracts and legal agreements.
RequirementsWhat We Need:
  • Master's degree in with 7 years of experience with work directly related to drug price negotiation (note – additional experience can substitute for advanced degree).
  • Engage with pharmaceutical companies, wholesalers, and other stakeholders to negotiate drug prices.
  • Develop negotiation strategies to achieve cost savings and fair pricing.
  • Conduct market research to understand pricing trends, competition, and market demand.
  • Analyze data to inform negotiation strategies and decisions.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts with pharmaceutical companies and suppliers.
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers, insurers, and government agencies to align on pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as finance, legal, and compliance.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on negotiation outcomes, cost savings, and market trends.
  • Maintain records of all negotiation activities and agreements.
  • Ensure all negotiation processes and pricing agreements comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in healthcare policies and regulations that impact drug pricing.
Clearance Level:
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
