Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryGrant Specialist (GS) plays a vital role in the sponsored project life cycle, ensuring that expenses charged to sponsored awards adhere to sponsor guidelines and are successfully administered and closed out.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sends past-due notices to sponsors for outstanding accounts receivables (AR).
  • Researches and updates sponsor contact information as required for invoice requests.
  • Monitors aging report on sponsored funds and follows up with sponsors on outstanding invoice requests.
  • Escalates high-risk AR to departments, schools and senior leadership as necessary.
  • Processes revised invoice requests required by the sponsor or submitted by departments.
  • Monitors inbox submissions and process incoming form requests from departments and school personnel.
  • Closes out accounting records for sponsored awards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related Business field.
  • Prior experience with grants or university accounting.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and communicate WU/agency guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a network system.
  • Manage high volume workload efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer services skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attention for detail.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification,
  • Sixty (60) semester hours of college including twelve (12) hours of accounting or four (4) years of professional accounting experience.
GradeG09-HSalary Range$23.37 - $36.19 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Questions
