Job Summary

The Manager, Electronic Distributor Interfaces (EDI), will be responsible for leading and growing an effective, efficient team that manages both enhancements, maintenance, and production support across the various electronic order platforms F&G supports both now and into the future. The platforms support new business entry for both life and annuity across distribution channels. Based on distributor feedback and production support issues, this position will collaborate with Operations to recognize trends, resolve systemic issues, and drive platform improvements. This position reports to the Director, Electronic Distributor Interfaces.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage Electronic Order Entry (EOE) platform enhancement and maintenance backlog item prioritization with the business (in collaboration with the EOE team).
  • Effectively manage EOE project release alignment and adherence to handoff dates.
  • Collaborate with QA for testing commitment on planned projects.
  • Interface with Product Management to identify eApp impacts, set handoff deadlines, commit to release delivery dates.
  • Collaborate with eApp team and business stakeholders to develop and maintain a workable EOE release calendar.
  • Develop and maintain a strong strategic relationship both internally at F&G as well as externally within the industry in the order entry space.
  • Accountable for representing F&G EOE team to distribution partners as well as within industry and vendor meetings & events.
  • Provide proactive and regular communication of EOE enhancements and issues.
  • Drive operational processing improvements based on analysis of business trends from the team and feedback from sales and distributors.
  • Understand the electronic order entry needs of key distributors and represent their views in project discussions.
  • Provide guidance/mentoring where appropriate to the EOE team, key service providers, vendors, and other service organization employees regarding successful operational relationship management, problem resolution, and service excellence.
  • Develops and drives EOE team strategy in alignment F&G strategic priorities.
  • Drives adoption and engagement of strategic initiatives through development of team objectives and activities.
  • Provide project management support for initiatives which do not have a formal project manager assigned to ensure project success.
  • Provides sound consultative guidance to projects and programs aimed at reducing agent/customer effort and/or frustration related to utilization of electronic order entry platforms.
  • Responsible for team activities that lead to an optimization of the service delivery process by using critical thinking, reports, agent/customer satisfaction surveys, and any other additional resources available.
  • Oversees direct reports and supports the department overall for the professional development and management oversight to ensure employee engagement and continual improvement within the team.
  • May be physically located with the business unit or work full time remote with periodic visits to the F&G Home Office in Des Moines, IA.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of financial service experience or life insurance, annuity, retirement plans.
  • 5+ years of customer service/relationship building experience.
  • 2+ years in a management or similar leadership role that includes direct reports.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficient understanding of Brokerage/IMO as well as Bank/Broker Dealer operations and electronic platform needs/usage.

  • Some travel may be required (less than 25%)
