Job Description
The Luminos Fund, a fast-growing international nonprofit bringing education opportunities to the world's most vulnerable children, seeks an experienced People Operations Associate to support our global HR functions.
The People Operations Associate will play a key role in supporting the Global People Officer in administrative and HR-related activities, helping to ensure smooth operations and strong coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks across HR functions in a dynamic, global environment.
This part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) is remote or office-based (Boston, London, or Accra) and open to candidates located in GMT-5 to GMT time zones. Work hours will be confirmed based on the selected candidate's location. The People Operations Associate will report to the Global People Officer and collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the organization. The role may involve some travel to challenging contexts in Africa and the Middle East.

Duties and Responsibilities HR Administration & Coordination- Support HR processes, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, HR metrics, and offboarding.
- Own and manage recruitment administration from requisition approval through offer preparation.
- Maintain accurate employee records, ensure compliance with HR policies in multiple legal jurisdictions, and manage HR documentation.
- Assist with benefits administration, time-off tracking, and payroll coordination.
- Support learning and development initiatives and staff engagement activities.
- Coordinate internal HR communications, including announcements and policy updates.
- Manage and optimize HR systems, e.g., HRIS (Rippling,) ATS (BreezyHR,) performance management (Lattice), EOR and benefits platforms to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Track HR metrics and generate reports to support data-informed decision-making.
- Identify and suggest improvements to people operations processes.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Organizational Design, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in an administrative/shared services support role with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Experience with an international/global workforce strongly valued. Readiness to work across time zones and language barriers to support people initiatives and new computer users.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proven success working remotely and collaborating with a remote workforce is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with HR systems and processes; experience with HRIS platforms preferred.
