We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Xero experience is essential to effectively manage and maintain our financial processes.

Schedule:
  • 20 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 10am - 2pm NZ time
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and statements, including daily transaction entries.
  • Ensure the timely processing of invoices and payments, monitoring accounts for discrepancies.
  • Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department and assist with routine reporting tasks.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and yearly financial closings, including reports and documentation.
  • Handle sensitive financial information with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Administrator, Finance Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles.
  • Proficiency in Xero is essential, with demonstrated experience in utilizing the platform for financial management.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Clear and professional communication skills to liaise with team members and external partners.
