This is a remote position.

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Xero experience is essential to effectively manage and maintain our financial processes.
Schedule:- 20 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 10am - 2pm NZ time
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and statements, including daily transaction entries.
- Ensure the timely processing of invoices and payments, monitoring accounts for discrepancies.
- Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile bank statements and investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department and assist with routine reporting tasks.
- Support the preparation of monthly and yearly financial closings, including reports and documentation.
- Handle sensitive financial information with a high level of confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounts Administrator, Finance Assistant, or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles.
- Proficiency in Xero is essential, with demonstrated experience in utilizing the platform for financial management.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Clear and professional communication skills to liaise with team members and external partners.
