DescriptionJob Summary/Job Purpose:

The Customer Service Associate (CSA) I – SNAP is responsible for handling all CPAP supply orders. In this role, the CSA will work within the SNAP system ensuring orders are accurately entered and all required documentation is received, contacts referral source when information is needed, verifies insurance, and processes patient co-pays and payments for supplies.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:
  • Enter orders accurately within the SNAP system, according to the department specifications. Make edits and updates when needed.
  • Obtain proper documentation and insurance information from patient and referral sources.
  • Acquire the proper authorizations in order to bill patient insurance.
  • Verify the patient’s insurance coverage. Make edits and adjustments to insurance information according to MedCare’s processes. Follow-up as needed.
  • Answer patient questions and provide cost estimates after verification of the patient’s insurance.
  • Communicate financial responsibility to patients and family. Process payments and co-pays via credit/debit card or e-check prior to releasing an order.
  • Works open task list when assigned. Completes tasks in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
RequirementsSkills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or durable medical equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrated PC skills with proven data entry experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience dealing with insurance guidelines, medical terminology/diagnosis, and extracting data from EMR’s to expedite order processing preferred.
