Senior Engineering Manager
Job Description
You are not a first-time manager, you have experience leading software development teams and working with executive teams.
You have proven success in analyzing and implementing process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive business success.
You have a strong Technical background in Java application development or similar backend programming languages, in the context of a product-oriented company.
You are willing to roll up your sleeves, directly and indirectly, to coach the teams and lead by example. Demonstrate how to dive into technical errors or problems to find solutions, unblocking the team whenever necessary.
You are comfortable managing complex, multi-faceted projects with excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
You can communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English and Spanish.
People Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a squad of ~8 Engineers (50-50 BE and FE), fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
Delivery Management: Oversee sprint commitments, draft roadmap timelines, influence priorities, ensure roadmap completion, and maintain a high level of predictability.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teams like Integrations and Platform, aligning with Product Managers and other stakeholders.
Technical Decision-Making: Collaborate with Tech Leads for technical decisions, while having full autonomy within the team regarding work processes.
Develop, and maintain up-to-date, a technical vision that aligns with Caravelo’s strategic business objectives, modernizing our platform and setting new standards in tech excellence.
Earn respect as a technical leader within the backend discipline, becoming a reference point for quality and innovation.
Foster a hands-on crafting culture, leading by example, mentoring emerging talent and raising the bar for the entire engineering team.
