Database Administrator

Mission Focus: Performing Modernization and enhancement, Operations and Maintenance, and Development on an existing web-based system to improve security, user functionality, stability, and cost efficiencies.

Clearance: Top Secret

Location/Flexibility: Remote with a possibility for occasional travel

• Implement and maintain one or more complex databases
• Implement procedures to control access and allocation of data and maintain security controls
• Maintain database definitions and documentation
• Exhibit advanced subject matter expertise
• Contribute to and may lead the planning and implementation of large programs in the function, and regularly interfaces with senior management and executive leadership

• Provide database architecture recommendations
• Convert logical data models to physical
• Optimize performance of SQL queries, functions, procedures, and packages

• Develop PL/SQL for incorporating business logic into backend
• Provide input into database design as well as implementing the developed solution

• Expert: BS degree and 11+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma and 14-17 years of relevant experience
• Senior: BS degree and 6+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma 9-13 years of relevant experience
• OCP (Oracle Certified Professional - Database Security)
• Familiarity with Agile software development
• Extensive experience with Oracle, SQL, and Java
• Experience with query tools such as Toad or SQL Developer

• Advanced knowledge and extensive implementation of Oracle database design, theories, and solutions.
• Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialist to set up, maintain and monitor data networks
• Knowledge of database structure languages, such as SQL or PL/SQL
• Familiarity with database management best practices
• Experience with a variety of computer information systems

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
